Description |
UniProt | Transcription factor of the NAC family associated with the grain protein content (GPC). Accelerates senescence and increases nutrient remobilization from leaves to developing grains. The tetraploid cultivated wheat (T.durum) and the hexaploid wheat (T.aestivum) carry a one bp insertion generating a non-functional allele of this gene. They have a delayed senescence and a lower grain protein, zinc and iron content (PubMed:17124321). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17124321}. |
