Binds to the promoter of the linalool synthase TPS5 and promotes TPS5 gene transactivation (PubMed:24884371). In association with WRKY72B, contributes to basal defense against root-knot nematodes (RKNs) and potato aphids, as well as Mi-1-mediated gene-for-gene resistance to these pests (PubMed:20409007).
