TAIREncodes a member of WRKY Transcription Factor (Group II-e) that confers resistance to tobacco ringspot nepovirus.
UniProtTranscription factor. Interacts specifically with the W box (5'-(T)TGAC[CT]-3'), a frequently occurring elicitor-responsive cis-acting element (By similarity). Acts also as a disease resistance protein that specifically recognizes the AvrRps4 type III effector avirulence protein from P.syringae. Heterodimerization with RPS4B is required to form a functional complex to recognize AvrRps4 and to mediate the hypersensitive response (PubMed:25744164). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P0DKH5, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25744164}.
