Source Description
TAIRMember of Heat Stress Transcription Factor (Hsf) family. Expression is regulated by DREB2A and in turn HSFA3 regulates the expression of hsps Hsp18.1-CI and Hsp26.5-MII35S. Involved in establishing thermotolerence.
UniProtTranscriptional activator that specifically binds DNA sequence 5'-AGAAnnTTCT-3' known as heat shock promoter elements (HSE). Involved in heat stress response. Activated by DREB2A under heat stress. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17999647, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18261981}.
Function -- GeneRIF ? help Back to Top
  1. Altogether these data demonstrate that HsfA3 is transcriptionally controlled by DREB2A and important for the establishment of thermotolerance.
    [PMID: 17999647]
  2. These results indicate that HsfA3 regulates expression of many heat-inducible genes in the transcriptional cascade downstream of the DREB2A stress-regulatory system and functions in acquisition of thermotolerance under the control of the DREB2A cascade.
    [PMID: 18261981]
  3. these results indicate that DREB2C and HsfA3 are key players in regulating the heat tolerance of Arabidopsis.
    [PMID: 20849812]
  4. Findings provide evidence that GolS1 and GolS2 are directly regulated by HsfA3 and that GolS enzymes play an important role in improving oxidative stress tolerance by increasing galactinol biosynthesis in Arabidopsis.
