Source Description
UniprotDEVELOPMENTAL STAGE: Detected in axillary mersitems which appears in the axils of leaves after flowering. During bud vegetative development, down-regulated in the outer layers of the meristem, but accumulates transiently in young leaf primordia. In buds bearing flowers, restricted to the provascular tissue underlying the bud. Accumulates in axillary buds, but disappears at the time of bud outgrowth. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17307924}.
UniprotTISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in axillary buds, and, to a lower extent, in axillary structures such as flowers and siliques. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17307924}.
Functional Description ? help Back to Top
Source Description
TAIREncodes a TCP transcription factor, closely related to teosinte branched1, arrests axillary bud development and prevents axillary bud outgrowth. Transcription level and mutant phenotype are weaker than its homolog BRC1 (At3G18550).
UniProtTranscription factor that prevents axillary bud outgrowth. May also delay early axillary bud development. Probably involved in the auxin-induced control of apical dominance. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17307924}.
