TAIREncodes a member of the CCAAT-binding transcription factor (CBF-B/NF-YA) family. Expression is upregulated in response to ABA and drought. This regulation appears to be mediated by MIR169A which is downregulated in response to drought. NFYA5 is a target of MIR169A. Loss of function mutations are hypersensitive to drought.
